A vape coil (aka a filter or wick) in a vape is the part that heats up the vape juice and turns it into a vapor. The coil consists of a coil of resistance wire wrapped around wicking material like organic cotton. When using the vape, electricity passes through the coil, and the coil heats up, vaporizing the vape juice/e-liquid for inhalation.
