Lone Star Vaping was started in 2013 after I was disappointed in the selection and service of other vape shops in San Antonio. In 2013, there were only a handful of dedicated vape stores, and most of them sold only standard vape pens and their selection left a lot to be desired. Several head shops had a small selection of vaping products, but the staff rarely knew much about these items and could not answer basic questions. I found this rather unfortunate, and I saw an opportunity.
I decided to open a dedicated vape shop with a knowledgeable vape staff, and we focused on becoming the go-to vape shop for all things vape-related. I wanted to have the largest selection of vape products in Texas! I hired two of my customers who were vaping enthusiasts (Adam & Todd). They had infinitely more vaping knowledge than I did. We listened to our customers, and we filled a void that other San Antonio vape shops lacked. We started buying mechanical mods, rebuildable dripping atomizers (RDA's), organic cotton, kanthal wire, and drip tips, and in 2014, we decided not to sell any pre-made vape juice. We decided to ONLY purchase our vape juice ingredients from reputable suppliers that had been in business for years and had a stellar reputation.
We custom-make every juice bottle, just like a drink at a bar. This allows us to cater to our customers' preferences. If customers want more flavor concentrate, we can easily make it for them. We can also add extra flavor, mint or menthol, and customize the nicotine levels for each customer. This level of customization was not common in most shops at the time, which typically only sold 70/30 (70% PG and 30% VG) e-liquid. We saw a void in the market and started offering 3 viscosity levels: Our original 70/30, a 50/50 mix, and our signature MAX VG, which, depending on the nicotine strength the customer chooses, is between 90%-99% pure food-grade Vegetable Glycerine and flavoring.
Owners of local shops actually came into our store to ask us questions, and it became apparent that they were using questionable suppliers for their PG/VG and even their nicotine. Their lack of knowledge in mixing vape juice that people inhaled was alarming. Fortunately, most of them went out of business.
We're excited to celebrate 11 years of serving the San Antonio vaping community! While the vaping world has changed, our commitment to customer service hasn't.
